035 Acid Vs. Fiber Glass Test ; 11/6/2022
Conducted by: Dr. Mcallister
Authorized by: Dr. Natsume (Head Researcher), Dr. Nova (Research Overseer)
________________________________________________________________________________________
Equipment/Material(s) Used: 1x Syringe, 1x Drop of 035 Acid, 1x Desk, 1x Magnifying Glass
Personnel Involved: Dr. Mcallister (Me), Dr. Nova, Engineer Sathos, SID Lt. Fultari, Provost MP Cloaker
SCP(s) or UA(s) Involved: SCP-035 Acid
________________________________________________________________________________________
Purpose of Test:
To determine rather or not Fiber Glass is a viable material for Project "Algorith" (See File: Project "Algorith"
Hypothesis:
I hypothesize that the Fiber glass will work against 035 acid. Due to the fact that normal glass can handle 035 acid very well.
Test Procedures:
1: I will request an engineer and 1 security to R wing testing, The engineer will bring a small piece of fiber glass
2: Security will arrive and put on BCU/Hazmats (As fiber glass and 035 acid isn't safe to touch with your bare hands)
3: Security will bring 035 acid, load it into a syringe, and drop it onto the fiber glass
4: I will observe the results
5: After testing, Both the acid and fiber glass will be disposed of
Observations:
The Provost MP applied the 035 acid to the top of the fiber glass, It made a hissing noise upon contact and actually began to melt partway through the material, leaving a black burn mark before settling.
Analysis:
The Fiber Glass did not get completely melted through and the acid did settle, but it was ultimately nowhere near as successful as regular glass is at stopping 035 acid.
Conclusion:
SID Disposed of the 035 acid and Fiber Glass without incident. My hypothesis was proved partially right. It did stop the acid but was burned partway through.
Additional Notes:
Fiber glass is not a good enough material for Project "Algorith", Recommended we try Ballistic glass at a later date.
