Purpose of Test 

This has two goals, first to develop to more assuredly contain SCP-5151 in any number of scenarios whether they have once again breached containment, or control has been lost, no matter the scenario I believe such a contingency must be developed. Secondly, I believe SCP-5151 thaumaturgically resembles several other thaumaturgical threats. Ones that we currently have no or costly solutions to deal with. So by studying methods of containing an entity like SCP-5151, we may be able to contain weaker entities.

Hypothesis

Using a ritual, based on an ancient Greek method said to be capable of holding gods temporarily in some tellings, we will be able to temporarily imprison SCP-5151. I suspect it will only be able to hold them for a minute max.

Test Procedures 

Security and SCP-5151 will be breached on the nature of the test. SCP-5151 will be asked to cooperate and I will make a blood pact to promise to release it upon which time the test has concluded if it has not been able to escape. SCP-5151’s cooperation in the matter will compromise it a little because if it is willing to be captured the enchantment will have a greater effect than if SCP-5151 was resisting. We will simply have to take this into consideration when analyzing the data.

First, the ritual site will be prepared, an altar to Tartarus the primordial of imprisonment, child of Gaia and Chaos, father of the Telkhines, and Aktaios, the first giant, the prison of flesh. These materials are easily obtained, the jar will be filled with the bear's blood and placed on the altar. The drachma will be laid in front of the jar, then the salmonids are taken cut open, and gutted, the guts being placed in the jar. The gutted salmonids will then have their insides filled with as many gold pieces as possible. The salmonids will be laid to the side as the ritual begins. The obsidian piece which is used for a filter catalyst, the brass knife, will be placed within reach. The thaumaturgical monitoring devices will be placed around the test site and activated and adjusted to measure for high levels of fluctuation, and programmed upon detecting above the Simon Threshold at which time the Thaumaturgical Disruptor will activate, the ritual stopped and the test concluded.

If the former does not occur the ritual will continue as normal, with the guards watching from close by. SCP-5151’s position is not important. To begin Dr. Simons will harmonize with the filter catalyst, then taking the brass knife he will sever the fish heads and then place the fish and any remaining drachma in the jar. He will utter a prayer targeting SCP-5151 to the Icon of Worship, used as a focus on SCP-5151, the reason for this coin is two things, Veles being a God of Virtue matches perfectly with SCP-5151’s personality, then secondly the Polish origins will synch well with my view of SCP-5151. The icon of worship will then be placed in the jar, the jar will be closed. The ritual phrase will be uttered, a simple prayer to Tartarus the primordial of imprisonment child of Gaia and Chaos, father of the Telkhines, and Aktaios, the first giant, the prison of flesh, requesting his aid in containing the targeted.

If the ritual is performed correctly SCP-5151 should experience a complete loss of senses and movement. They shall see a vast fleshy hell from which they can find no escape. Before the test, SCP-5151 shall be told he needs to try and escape, and if they don’t that the spell will be broken from our side. To break the spell the jar and its contents must be burned completely. This will be done after ten minutes if SCP-5151 has yet to escape. Data recorded by Thamuturgical Monitoring Devices will be downloaded and analyzed later. A cleansing of the area, and SCP-5151 if it desires, will be performed in case there are any residuals, then the Thaumaturgical Disruptor allowed to run for thirty seconds. The test will then be concluded.

Observations  

Dr. Simons prepared the equipment and components before explaining the experiment to SCP-5151. While SCP-5151 was reluctant it did eventually agree to the test.

Security and Dr. Solstice reported to the R-wing test and were briefed on the experiment, as well as EO Jacobs who attended at his own request. After initial preparations, the blast doors were sealed and the test began. 

SCP-5151 was asked to stand inside the area scanned by the analyzers, and they complied. Following this Dr. Simons performed the pre-ritual preparations and then successfully connected to the catalyst filter then began the experiment. The primary ritual was completed without incident, the analyzers detected a 6.7 n spike in type g thaumaturgical energy, this was within expected limits.

Upon concluding the ritual SCP-5151 made no sound and when spoken to multiple times gave no visible response. As it seemed the ritual was successful the timer was started. The analyzers detected type g energy ranging from 3 to 8.2 n over SCP-5151 however no source was detected. The pot was noted to be emitting 3 n of type g energy as expected.

Dr. Simons was addressing security who were located in the viewing room when at the 30-second mark the analyzers detected a spike to 5.6 n from the pot then a dramatic drop to baseline, following this the pot burst into flames. Dr. Simons was far enough away to be unharmed but the table and the equipment on top were set on fire soon after. Five seconds later SCP-5151 began moving again, appearing frantic and fearful. 

SCP-5151 retreated to a corner of the room where it drew its sword. Dr. Simons attempted to communicate from a distance. SCP-5151’s consciousness appeared to successfully have been moved to Tartarus the primordial of imprisonment, child of Gaia and Chaos, father of the Telkhines, and Aktaios, the first giant, the prison of flesh. However, SCP-5151 reported viewing a hateful entity that looked at them and smiled. 

SCP-5151 was assured they were safe and could not be followed back. However, just in case the thaumaturgical disruptor was activated and allowed to run for one minute before security entered and used the fire extinguisher to put out the fire. The components of the ritual that survived the fire were burned in the R-wing incinerator. During this SCP-5151 abruptly departed and returned to their containment chamber. 

Dr. Simons reported having gone to apologize for putting SCP-5151 through that experience. The remaining equipment was stored away then the data was downloaded.

Analysis 

I think this was all immensely interesting though SCP-5151’s reaction, while understandable, was concerning. 

A great deal happened, but everything seen was within the expected parameters for the most part. The spike in energy then drop was likely SCP-5151 using their will to escape the effects of the ritual, bursting into flames was also not unexpected though maybe startling. However, it could be possible it was actually Tartarus the primordial of imprisonment, child of Gaia and Chaos, father of the Telkhines, and Aktaios, the first giant, the prison of flesh himself forcing the experiment's conclusion. While it would violate the terms of the ritual, I suspect that is of little concern to a powerful Greek primordial entity.

Upon analysis, it would seem I also failed to properly sync with the filter catalyst. This was likely because I fumbled the words to do so. However, it seems it was unnecessary to worry about it.

Now, what I believe SCP-5151 saw was indeed Tartarus the primordial of imprisonment, child of Gaia and Chaos, father of the Telkhines, and Aktaios, the first giant, the prison of flesh and the entities reaction to SCP-5151 is hard to gauge. Whether it was normal or not is hard to say as no reference exists referring to the afflicted’s point of view. 

Conclusion

I believe that this experiment was successful, especially considering we used a reduced version of the spell. If this were to be used on another entity with thaumaturgical similarities to SCP-5151 then I suspect it would be successful. I am worried however about SCP-5151, while encountering an entity like that was bound to elicit such a response, I am concerned about how it may have psychologically affected SCP-5151. I would like to request SCP-5151 receive a psychological evaluation and if possible receive therapy for what it encountered.

I am also proud to say that the ethics committee official Jacobs gave his approval and praise of this test. I am happy to keep on their good side but also pleased to have impressed them.

But beyond that, there is little else I can say. I may attempt this experiment with other entities, possibly other than SCP-5151, to further test its potential on entities less similar to SCP-5151. SCP-953 is a possibility or maybe summoning a few ectomorphs or demonics to test it.
